General Władysław Sikorski is the oldest Polish Saturday school in Montreal.
Courses are given to children each Saturday from September to May, from 9 am to 12pm. We have teachers from grades pre-kindergarten (4 years old) to high school. Our high school program (3 years) is recognized and credited by Quebec's Ministry of education (MEQ).
The curriculum is focused on the Polish language , history, geography, as well as the Polish culture and traditions. Once a month the kids also have religion (Saint Trinity Church).
Our students participate in many cultural events organized by the polish community such as "Constitution day on May 3rd" and "Poland's Independence day on November 11".
Other than that, our students also participate in many competitions (locally, throughout Canada and Poland) fort example art competitions(drawing painting ...) or written (poems, letters...)
Every year the Parents Committee:
Organizes small events for kids ex: Easter egg hunt
Organizes big events like the Christmas party, where kids will meet Santa Clause, and the end of the year party...
Is in charge of fundraising, ex: bake sales, Fundscript cards....
Plans various filed trips, ex: library, sugar shack....
